Magic in the Making: Ashley + Nikki, See Southcoast

Every time I create a new feature for Magic in the Making, I’m reminded just how much passion, heart, and purpose lives right here in our local communities.

This edition spotlights Nikki and Ashley—the sisters behind See Southcoast, a platform dedicated to celebrating all things local across the Southcoast of Massachusetts.

Like so many of us, they found themselves asking, “What is there to do around here?” But instead of letting that question fade, they turned it into something meaningful—something that invites others back into the heart of their own community.

They launched See Southcoast two and a half years ago, and what began as a passion project has grown into a trusted space to discover local businesses, find weekend events, and reconnect with everything this region has to offer.

Over the years, they’ve quietly become go-tos for what’s happening locally—from hidden gems you might’ve driven by a dozen times to new spots you’ll want to visit ASAP. They don’t just create content—they create connection. Their work is rooted in deep respect for the Southcoast and the people who make it what it is. They’re not just content creators. They’re community builders.

In Their Words:

“See Southcoast is a guide to Southcoast, MA. Through social media, we highlight local small businesses and share community events to show people in and out of the Southcoast what it has to offer.
We started See Southcoast to not only bring attention to all the positive happening in our community but, on a more personal level, for us to feel more connected to the place we call home.”

When people visit their page, they hope it’s not just about what’s happening—but how it makes people feel.

“Whether it’s a specific event posted in our stories or a local small business on our feed, we hope people find something they can connect with. We want to encourage people to try new things and meet new people.”

What drives their approach is a deep appreciation for the Southcoast’s beauty, creativity, and resilience—and a commitment to keeping their platform centered around connection and positivity.

“We spotlight the Southcoast—the beautiful landscapes, the talented people who share their gifts with us every day, and the one-of-a-kind businesses. In order to do this successfully, we focus on positivity within our community. We keep a positive outlook in order to create a space where people and businesses can connect.”

And what keeps them going?

“Feedback from followers is what keeps us going. We’ve received so many kind messages and encouraging words—it really makes us feel like we’re making an impact.”

That impact is something they carry with intention.

“We’re proud that through the following we’ve built (and continue to build), we’re able to bring attention to businesses and community events who truly care about making our community flourish.”

They’ve met countless people who are making a difference in quiet, meaningful ways—and they’re honored to be a part of sharing those stories.

“We’ve met so many wonderful people who do so much for our community. To be able to visit so many local businesses and find out the reason and motivation behind why they started is truly inspiring—and we are so grateful for this experience.”

Nikki and Ashley have built something special—and they’re just getting started. If you’re a local business or hosting an event and want to collaborate with them, I highly recommend reaching out.
